ABOUT US

KH_Headshot.JPG

Aloha! My name is Keanimaikalani Hueu, but you can call me Keani! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, born and raised on the island of O'ahu. I grew up in a very big 'ohana with lots of different personalities and experiences. This allowed me to be able to adapt to different situations and really learn to accept people for who they are at their core. I believe this led me to have a better understanding of the relationships we all build with each other and how we take a little bit of what we learn with us for the rest of our lives.

I completed my undergrad degree in Business Administration at Eastern Oregon University. After returning home to the islands, I enrolled in the Marriage and Family Therapy graduate program at Argosy University. Through its rigorous program, I was able to work through my own thoughts and emotions to better prepare myself to be the best therapist I could be for others. My clinical experience involves working with children, individuals (of all ages), couples, and families. I use a person-centered and experiential approach that helps clients see that they are the experts of their lives. My collaborative approach helps clients feel comfortable and safe throughout the therapeutic process. I have experience working with a variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, substance abuse, coparenting, and much more.

Working with clients from many different backgrounds and life experiences has helped guide me in understanding that we all have our own stories to tell. I've come to appreciate walking alongside each person I interact with and work to create a non-judgmental, open, and safe environment for all to be a part of. While we work together, you can expect to be in a place filled with empathy and aloha. Please feel free to come as you wish and let's go on this journey together!

Aloha, my name is Jessica Lee.  I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, born and raised on the island of Oahu.  I have over 10 years of experience working in the mental health and substance abuse field.  My clinical experience also includes working with trauma survivors, SMI clients, and the adult court system helping ex-offenders transition back into the community.  I am passionate about empowering the community and volunteer my time as a board member of the Honolulu Community Action Program representing the central district of Oahu.

I believe that therapy is a journey.  A journey to embrace and foster acceptance of self, allowing one to be open to his/her life’s purpose.  I work collaboratively with clients, creating a non-judgmental safe space to process through life’s challenges.  I utilized a blend of family systems, experiential, cognitive behavioral, and solution-focused therapies.  I have additional training in complex trauma, personality disorders, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Gottman Method Level 1 and 2.

I am experienced in working with individuals, couples, and groups coping with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship and family conflicts, substance abuse, anger management, as well other concerns.

Allow me to be a part of your journey!

Successful therapy begins with finding a therapist you feel comfortable with. My approach to therapy is warm, empathic, hopeful, and person-centered. Clients are the experts of their lives and they will determine the direction and depth of their healing. I strive to provide a safe and supportive environment where people can share their stories and develop a deeper understanding of feelings, thoughts, patterns, and challenges. I have a passion for helping others understand their strengths, overcome personal obstacles, move towards wholeness, and thrive.

I have helped many people with a wide range of concerns including life transitions, mood and anxiety challenges, grief, relationship issues, LGBTQ challenges, trauma, domestic violence, parenting issues, blended family challenges, addictions, and self-harm. I have also worked with neurodevelopmental disorders including ADHD, autism spectrum, and specific learning disorders among other challenges. Through a collaborative effort with the individual, couple, or family, I incorporate principles from cognitive-behavioral therapy, emotion focused therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, and solution-focused modalities to develop skills of mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal connection. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

Thank you for your courage in taking the first steps towards seeking a more fulfilling and happier life. I see you. E pili mau na pomaika'i la 'oe, may blessings ever be with you.
